Microsoft Exchange Setup – Apple Mail on Mac

Step-by-Step Guide: Installing Microsoft Exchange Email in Apple Mail on Mac

Follow these steps to set up your Microsoft Exchange email account in Apple Mail on macOS:

Step 1. Open System Settings
* Click the Apple menu () in the top-left corner.
* Select System Settings (or System Preferences on older macOS versions).

Step 2. Go to Internet Accounts
* In System Settings, scroll down and select Internet Accounts.
* On older macOS versions, this may be found under Internet Accounts in System Preferences.

Step 3. Add a New Account
* Click the + button (or Add Account).
* From the list of account types, select Microsoft Exchange.

Step 4. Enter Your Email Details
* In the pop-up window, enter your name, email address, and password for your Microsoft Exchange account.
* Click Sign In.

Step 5. Configure Server Settings (if prompted)
* Apple Mail will attempt to configure the account automatically.
* If automatic setup fails, you may need to enter:
* Email address
* Username (usually your full email address)
* Password
* Internal & External Server URLs (provided by your IT department)

Step 6. Select Apps to Use with Exchange
* You will be asked which apps you want to use with your Exchange account.
* Tick Mail and optionally Contacts, Calendars, Notes, or Reminders.
* Click Done.

Step 7. Open Apple Mail
* Launch the Mail app.
* Your Exchange mailbox will appear in the sidebar and start syncing emails.

Step 8. Test and Adjust Settings
* Compose a test email to ensure sending works.
* If needed, go to Mail > Settings > Accounts to adjust mailbox behaviours or server settings.

* Ensure your Mac has the latest macOS updates for best Exchange compatibility.
